Volunteers have now been recruited, so this module starts with a warm welcome to the organisation, giving a sense of belonging and purpose. Volunteer induction is delivered in tandem with this module, as participants start volunteering in a supervised capacity either virtually or in a centre-based setting. They will also start to meet pregnant women in their community, promoting health and wellbeing and confidently introducing the programme to them.
Throughout this module participants will need to refer to the M2 handout booklets which are downloadable within each session below. They will also refer to their Volunteer Handbook, particularly in Sessions 6 and 8 when participating in some of the activities.
This session is about introducing volunteers to the organisation and establishing the foundations of what being a Community Parent is all about.

- Values and principles that underpin the Community Parent model and how they are put into practice

- Facilitate discussion around how best to reach expectant parents who could benefit from peer support and the barriers they might face
- Explore health and safety issues
- Celebrate their ideas and commitment in completing the induction process!
