The key aims of the Lullaby Project Essex were for:

  • Parents to feel more prepared for labour and birth, leading to more positive birthing experiences.
  • Parents and partners to be better informed and more confident about bonding, caring for themselves and their babies, and parenting more generally, leading to improved resilience and sense of agency.
  • Parents to feel more confident about accessing public services and communicating with professionals involved in their care.
  • Parents to feel less isolated, feel able to build new social relationships and support networks, feel better able to cope with the challenges of parenthood, and report improved wellbeing.

Parents, musicians and Parents 1st peer supporters at our Lullaby
