Enabling pregnant women and volunteers to meet

This is a very busy time for the programme coordinator. You will be putting into practice all your plans for enabling volunteers and pregnant women to meet (more information in our set-up guide):

  • Organising outreach activities in antenatal clinics
  • Encouraging referrals from professionals
  • Setting up stands at community events
  • Using social media e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram
  • Distributing leaflets and posters widely in the community
  • Press interviews

Once a pregnant woman asks for support, the process of establishing a trusting peer relationship is the next step. This will be a sensitive and flexible process that is adapted to individual needs.
