Working out what it will cost

The financial model in this section helps you to work out the costs of your peer support programme, and how much funding you will need to run it each year. It is based on experience of running successful peer support programmes and has been pre-populated with realistic suggestions.

Referring to the assumptions in the financial model below, helps you to consider whether your costs might be higher or lower. This will depend on local circumstances and how your peer support programme will operate.  For example, travel costs for volunteers or staff will be higher for those operating in a rural area. Enter your estimates in each field as indicated.

The model will automatically calculate an estimated detailed budget, profit and loss, and balance sheet over a 10-year period which you can then review in more detail.

When reviewing your draft profit and loss, you might need to consider how much income you will need and where it will come from. For example, could you generate some income from trading activities?  If that is the case, further financial modelling is likely to be needed.

Please share any feedback you may have when using this financial model or if you need help with it or would like to discuss your specific circumstances, please contact us here.
