In response to Covid-19, many organisations have rapidly moved to providing remote peer support or are working to adapt their services.
Mind in partnership with the Maternal Mental Health Alliance, McPin Foundation and three lived experience facilitators developed a set of principles that were launched last year called ‘The Perinatal Peer Support principles.’ The principles are a set of five values that provide peer supporters with the confidence to deliver peer support that meets the needs of mum and families affected by mental health difficulties, during pregnancy and the postnatal period.
In response to the current climate, Mind aims to develop digital resources to support ‘remote’ perinatal peer support - peer support that is taking place online, via video calls or telephone support etc.
They have put together a survey to gather your thoughts on what remote perinatal peer support should look like and invite you all to share your ideas.
