Join our Information Session and find out how you could provide invaluable peer support for parents and babies through enriching volunteering in North Essex.
Could you be the person to change someone’s pregnancy for the better? Finding out you’re having a baby can be an anxious and worrying time for parents to be, there are so many changes ahead, appointments to attend and new language to learn - it can be a scary time.
Through the support of the community, we help expectant mums to have a positive experience through their pregnancy journey, birth and the baby’s first few months. Our volunteers provide a listening ear, look at goals to achieving a healthy pregnancy, attend appointments and some even support during the birth (optional), other volunteers help to set up peer support groups and promote the service in local places.
Pregnancy Pals and Birth buddies are parents, grandparents or others with relevant experience.
They receive training to offer friendly support and encouragement to parents who may feel depressed, anxious, isolated or find it hard to access services. Most of all, they listen and don’t judge
If you would like to be a part of a life changing community programme to support a family in their life changing moments pop along to one of our friendly coffee mornings to find out more about the opportunities available
