LatchAid has launched a brand new app during World Breastfeeding Week 2021 to support mothers through their breastfeeding journey.

LatchAid was set up by Dr Chen Mao Davies, who faced her own breastfeeding challenges when she became a parent.

The UK has the lowest rate of breastfeeding in the world. It is not always easy and many mums experience issues with getting breastfeeding established. 90% of mums give up a lot earlier then planned.

LatchAid's new app aims to "Provide help when it’s needed and advice when it’s wanted. It has been developed for you and your baby and designed to give you all the support, knowledge, comfort and community needed to successfully breastfeed."

The LatchAid app supports mums, mums-to-be, and their families through 3D technology, Artificial Intelligence, virtual peer support groups and live experts to help them through their breastfeeding and early parenthood journey.

The app includes:

  • Interactive 3D animations
  • Virtual breastfeeding support groups
  • 24/7 smart and personalised support
  • Interactive expert webinars
  • Breastfeeding FAQs written by infant-feeding experts

“We believe that every mother deserves the support and empowerment to give their child the best start in life. This is at the core of everything we do. I understand first-hand the challenges that mothers face, that is what motivated me to start LatchAid. I know we can help mothers overcome these struggles.” Dr Davies
