Join the Parents 1st UK team as our new Peer Support Link Worker for Harlow
Location: Harlow (home-based/ hybrid)
Hours: 27 hours per week
Salary: £13.85 per hour
We’re looking for a compassionate and motivated Peer Support Link Worker to join our Peer to Parent team in Harlow and the surrounding areas, supporting expectant and new parents. This is a fixed term contract to March 2027, with potential to extend further subject to funding.
Working in partnership with the NHS Perinatal Mental Health Team and Health, Social Care and Voluntary Sector professionals in Essex, you will hold a case load of parents who are referred into the Service.
Your personal qualities, ability to support parents facing challenges, and your experience of mental health issues are more important than formal qualifications. Full induction and training will be provided by Parents 1st UK including an opportunity to gain a level 3 CACHE qualification in Peer Support.
About the role
As a Peer Support Link Worker, you’ll:
- Enable mothers, fathers, and partners to access peer support.
- Raise awareness of the benefits of emotional wellbeing and peer support.
- Build trusted relationships with families, especially those who may feel isolated or vulnerable
- Help parents access local services and feel confident navigating support systems
- Support parents using a strengths-based, empowering approach
