The NHS Business Service Authority are creating a new, voluntary service allowing people to request a Baby Loss Certificate to acknowledge babies lost before 24 weeks of pregnancy. The aim is to provide comfort and support for grieving parents who would like their loss to be recognised.

As part of this service, we are hoping to conduct research with individuals who have experienced pregnancy or baby loss before 24 weeks of pregnancy, who also feel like they belong in the following groups:

  • People who find using technology harder, or need help to do so
  • People with neurodivergence. ‘Neurodivergent’ is a non-medical umbrella term that describes people with variation in their mental functions, and can include conditions such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or other neurological or developmental conditions such as attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
  • People who speak English as a second or additional language
  • People with accessibility needs (who may or may not use assistive software/tools)
  • People who identify as male
  • People from an ethnic minority background (also referred as BAME)
