PLEASE NOTE:
If you’re pregnant, please make sure your midwife or healthcare provider is happy for you to exercise.
If you had a straightforward birth, you can start gentle exercise as soon as you feel up to it. This could include walking, gentle stretches, pelvic floor and tummy exercises.
It's usually a good idea to wait until after your 6-week postnatal check before you start any high-impact exercise, such as aerobics or running. If you exercised regularly before giving birth and you feel fit and well, you may be able to start earlier. Talk to your midwife, health visitor or GP.
FREE Leisure Centre pass offer:
Parents 1st UK has partnered with Everyone Active to offer a free leisure centre pass to everyone attending our fitness classes.
The pass will give access to the gym, swimming and fitness classes at either Basildon Sporting Village, The Eversley Leisure Centre in Pitsea or Wickford Swim and Fitness Centre. The pass is one use only, and you will be able to select the date you will be able to use it on (up to 5 days after signing up to redeem the offer).
The leisure centres offer free swimming for all children under the age of 5, however if they do not already have accounts parents will need to contact the centre they wish to attend in advance.
Instructions on how to redeem the offer will be shared at your first Parents 1st fitness class session.
