Young Womens Charity

Bright Futures is a registered charity (Charity Number: 1157578) supporting young mums across South Tyneside.

The support available is either 1:1 or in a group setting depending on the needs of the young woman.  The service is available until the young mum is ready to take the next steps in her life.  It gives young mums the support needed to parent whilst navigating complex lifestyle and relationship issues.  The overaching aim is that all mums feel empowered to thrive as a parent and person. 

The service is available to young/expectant mums up to the age of 25 years old, from potentially deprived areas who may lack confidence to reach out and acess support networks.

The groups are informal, delivered in the community and children are welcome to attend.  All sessions are non-judgemental and empowering, all attendees have shared and/or relatable experiences.

We have trained peer supporters who monitor the WhatsApp group as well as support mums to access groups.
