Could you assist our Programme Manager to deliver a new peer support initiative to provide emotional wellbeing during pregnancy, birth and beyond?
Position: Peer Support Worker, Jaywick and Tendring (Perinatal Peer Support)
Hours: 20 hours a week
Salary: £12,313.60 (£23,088 FTE)
Place of work: Home-based with regular meetings at EXTRA Support for Families Jaywick. The community focus of the post will be the Tendring area.
Parents 1st Essex is currently looking for a unique individual to assist with developing an exciting new initiative for vulnerable parents-to-be in Jaywick and Tendring, Essex.
Being a parent can often feel overwhelming. Supporting the emotional resilience of mothers, fathers and partners during pregnancy and early parenthood is vital. Peer support is unique and highly valued by parents living in Essex.
You will be passionate about the power of peer support during pregnancy, birth and beyond, along with the ability to assist with setting up, promoting and delivering a peer support programme including recruiting and supporting volunteers and delivering peer group information sessions. You will have lived experience of pregnancy and parenthood and the ability to build warm and trusting peer-to-peer relationships.
You will assist with delivering this exciting new programme, working closely with the Parents 1st staff team.
