The Regional Mental Health Team NHS England – East of England is working in partnership with Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority Groups to deliver interactive workshops to provide an introductory insight into the cultural barriers and adaptions that can be implemented when supporting and engaging with specific groups.  

This workshop with be delivered in partnership with Community of Cultures on the importance of  cultural competency and safety and will:

  • Reflect upon our values and attitudes around race, as well as those of others.
  • Distinguish between assumptions, myths and realities surrounding the communities we work with.
  • Understand the need for active community engagement and mutual learning.
  • Identify concrete steps towards active community engagement according to professional roles
