Fit 4 Mums-to-be

Fit 4 Mums-to-be is a 2 hour weekly continuous exercise programme from early pregnancy to birth. It is particularly aimed at mothers who do not normally exercise or may be overweight. Sessions are led by Sally Taylor, who is a fully qualified YMCA personal trainer who specialises in prenatal and postnatal exercise. She is very friendly and approachable and has 10 years experience of providing exercise sessions for pregnant mums.

Light refreshments and an informal talk follow each session about topics of interest such as healthy eating, preparing for labour and birth, emotional support and breastfeeding. Many parents return to the group after the birth to keep in touch and share their experiences.

  • James Hornsby School, Leinster Road, Laindon, Essex, SS15 5NX, every Wednesday evening from 7pm till 9 pm.
  • Little Lions Children's Centre, Northwick Park School, Canvey Island, Essex, SS8 9SU, every Tuesday morning from 9:30am till 11:30am.

Fit 4 Mums - Post Natal Fittness Sessions

You can return to exercise after six weeks if you have had a normal delivery, or three months if you have had a C-section.  Please check with your GP before returning to exercise.

Exercise sessions will be adapted to suit all fitness levels, so even if you have never exercised before, come along and give it a go!  You might surprise yourself!

  • Improved bladder control (strengthens pelvic floor)

  • Helps to reduce tiredness
  • Improved circulation
  • Strengthens core muscles

Stay for refreshments and a chat after each session and make new friends, voluntary contributions to help cover costs are encouraged.  We are unable to provide a creche, but you are welcome to bring your baby with you.

Fit 4 Mums is an 8 week exercise programmed designed to help postnatal mums feel fit and healthy after giving birth.
